Memorial to Stan Mruk
Stan was a singular force in the plastics piping community and contributed greatly over many years. He will surely be deeply missed. The PPI page memorializing Stan is very well done and includes background information from his family.

Plastic Pipe Institute Handbook
This authoritative handbook of polyethylene pipe discloses the use of polyethylene piping systems as “a cost-effective solution to rehabilitate the underground infrastructure” and every chapter is available to download for FREE! That's right. No charges, no gimmicks, just an excellent reference guide. This incredibly useful handbook should unquestionably be in the library of every plastic pipe consultant.

MAB Generic Electrofusion Procedure for Field Joining of 12 Inch and Smaller Polyethylene (PE) Pipe
"Companies that manufacture electrofusion products and equipment reviewed existing procedures, agreed on common best practices, and combined experiences and knowledge to educate and train installers. Thus, this publication provides a uniform electrofusion joining procedure to provide greater consistency, and to facilitate the pipeline operator’s efforts to qualify the installer, reduce cost, and simplify inspections".

Hydrostatic Stress Board
"The primary functions of the Hydrostatic Stress Board (HSB) of PPI are to issue recommendations to industry regarding the strength of thermoplastic piping materials intended for pressure applications, and to develop appropriate policies and procedures for the conduct of this activity. Since 1958, the HSB has worked as a volunteer group under PPI's auspices to define appropriate test procedures and issue recommendations for long-term strength. The HSB's recommendations are often referenced by North American plastics piping standards for the qualifying of thermoplastic piping materials for pressure piping service, and for the establishment of pipe pressure ratings".

TN44 - Long-Term Resistance of AWWA C906 Polyethylene Pipe to Potable Water Disinfectants
This guide provides a simple mathematical model for assessment of the resistance level of three classes of polyethylene materials to hypochlorite exposure (sometimes called chlorine exposure). Worked examples are provided to illustrate the calculation.

HSB-R1
The very first “HSB-R” report is now published under the PPI Publications web page. It discusses the "recommendations taken by the Hydrostatic Stress Board in qualifying polyethylene pipe compounds for the application of a 0.63 design factor. Information provided herein includes the final decision of the Hydrostatic Stress Board, a summary and discussion of the research undertaken that resulted in the 0.63 recommendation and a brief history on the origin of the 0.50 design factor and how the 0.63 design factor relates to it". Certainly this is an important reference material for professionals in the plastic pipe industry.

PPI-PACE
"The purpose of this tool is to assist industry professionals in the evaluation and selection of PE pipe for pressurized water distribution and transmission main systems by completing design calculations. In addition to operating pressures, PPI-PACE considers recurring and occasional transient surges and the design fatigue life of the pipeline in the evaluation process. Comparable calculations are also provided for PVC pipe following the applicable standards".
