Results from the tests show that the microwave inspection method is successful at identifying butt fusions that are unacceptable or acceptable under many different testing situations. In the future, Bob is working to integrate artificial intelligence that will automate the interpretation of the results as well as expanding the testing base to include additional types of joints and sizes.
