PPI to Hold Fusion Training Course in North Dakota
PPI to Hold Fusion Training Course in North Dakota
The Plastic Pipe Institute (PPI) is set to hold a training seminar at the Rough Rider Center in Watford City, North Dakota on August 30th and 31st. The first full day session will focus on pipeline design and the second day will focus on fusion. The PPI notes that the main goal of this seminar is to focus on the proper use of high-density polyethylene (HDPE) pipes for water lines. Randy Knapp, the engineering director of the Energy Piping Systems Division of PPI notes that proper training is critically important for the energy industry and many companies are finding it difficult to find employees with the proper experience, training, or technical skills. HDPE and composite pipelines can experience pressure from 300 to 1,000 psi and temperatures up to 180F, meaning that in many cases, there is no room for mistakes when installing these lines.
