Polypropylene Heat Fusion
Polypropylene Heat Fusion
Heat fusion is a process used to join thermoplastics. Instead of using some sort of paste or a mechanical connection and gasket, heat fusion actually takes the two pieces of plastic and combines it into one piece. The operation is quite similar to welding, but instead it does not need a filler material and heat fusion does not debilitate the material at the point of attachment. Aquatherm’s heat fusion attachments utilize an enormous joining region, making the attachment strong as the pipe itself, and sometimes even stronger. Heat fusion operates by remitting the attached point to a melted state, at which it was during production. This permits the polypropylene chains to consolidate as the attachment cools for a durable bond, as if it was made as one piece. This hinders any kind of chemical or physical weakness at the point of attachment and results in a much lower case of leaks or failures.

BDI - Bead Diagnostic Instrument
BDI - Bead Diagnostic Instrument
The Bead Diagnostic Instrument (BDI) is an onsite tool that gives you distinct and rapid results on the nature of your butt fusion welds without having destructive testing. The BDI was developed to provide the installer with the capability to simply take out butt fusion joint beads and later test them in a continuous and consistent cycle. BDI has become the first tool to supply a dependable and simple not-destructive test for PE butt fusion joints.
